As part of our expansion into delivering FinTech solutions directly to consumers, we are looking for a smart, enthusiastic, experienced and responsible individual in Malaysia to co-lead our B2C FinTech initiatives.

One of the roles to fill is the Senior Operating Officer. The key duties are to secure the functionality of business, to drive extensive and sustainable growth whilst maintaining the efficiency and compliance of the business. Hence, it is suitable for someone who can roll up the sleeves and multi-task in the role.

The SOO role is a key member of the management team and is expected to have at least 5 years of relevant experience in finance industry.


  • Develop the growing team to deliver technology driven investment solutions directly in Malaysia
  • Manage operations to meet budget, business and other strategic goals
  • Establish/update financial management processes and infrastructure to enable scalability of operations
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with the Securities Commission
  • Interact with marketing team to execute client acquisition strategy
  • Set up client service operations to support growth
  • Develop and design innovative investment solutions using the technology platform
  • Provide management oversight and guidance for operations and investment teams
  • Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.)
  • Manage relationships with partners/vendors
  • Participate actively in staff recruitment, training, development, and evaluation
  • Develop reporting process and communication policy for all stakeholders – external and internal
  • Oversee and refine internal control and risk management systems

Ideal Skills

  • Have passed or is able to pass Securities Commission’s exam modules 12 and 19
  • Newly qualified member of the CFA, ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent professional body
  • Have operational and investment experiences in fund management firms or with auditing/accounting background


  • Develop and improve existing systematic investment infrastructure
  • Conduct empirical research and analysis on financial data to develop new insights
  • Collaborate with other researchers, designers, product managers and sales on platform improvements

Skill Set Requirements

  • Strong mathematical or engineering background with applications in finance, accounting and economics
  • Hands-on experience analysing complex data and building statistical models. Programming competency in R, Java, C/C++ or similar
  • Bachelor/Master degree in engineering, finance or equivalent professional experience
  • Ability to communicate technical content to an audience with varied backgrounds

Skill Set Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum 4 years working experience in Java Web Application Development using the related technologies
  • Experience in developing web solutions using Java EE, Spring Framework, Maven, MySQL and Apache Tomcat.
  • Good understanding and knowledge in Web technology / languages like JSON, RESTful web service
  • Experience with software development versioning control, GIT.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Willing to work in a team in an entrepreneur environment
